The University of Westminster grounds were ablaze with colour as pupils stepped off the coaches dressed in their House colours, ready to battle it out for the prestigious Sports Day House Cup.
For the first time since 2019 parents were able to join us for the day and it was wonderful to see them all cheering the children on and many taking part in the egg & spoon!
The event was a wonderful mixture of challenge, competition, co-operation and fun! As well as traditional sprint races and tug-of-war to appeal to the competitive spirit, the seven 'activity stations' created an inclusive activity circuit so that every child could participate and enjoy the day while winning all-important points for their House. Standing long jump, javelin, rounders ball throw, the activities obstacle race, bean bag shuttle relay and the ever-popular wellie-throwing were each hotly contested but skills and agility were really put to the test during the egg and spoon race.
After a quick snack the children somehow found more energy to take part in the house relays before our Year 6s finished off the day with a spectacular 'tug of war'.
In the end it was Kingfisher House who lifted the trophy to much excitement and cheering! A great day all round!
