Prep Pupils have been busy this term producing hugely entertaining short films that they entered into PREP SHORTS, the School’s 4th annual film competition.
The whole Prep School came together in the Edward Latymer Theatre to watch all 25 entries and applaud the ten winners who received their prizes of £20 amazon vouchers. This year’s winners are:
- Nolan, Year 3
- Anya, Year 3
- Selene, Year 3
- Hugo, Year 3
- Maya, Year 4
- Liberty, Year 4
- Irving, Year 5
- Maxim, Year 5
- Marina, Year 6
- Enrico, Year 6
The entries were judged by Louis (Sixth former and filmmaker) who said: “I really enjoyed watching all the films. There were lots of really strong stop-motion animations, which is how I got into filmmaking so it was fun to analyse their approach. I was really impressed by the effort and detail all the filmmakers put into their work.”
Competition organiser, Mr Bohane said: “Running this competition is very rewarding and this year was no exception. The pupils enter the competition of their own volition, they get their family and friends involved and really rise to the challenge to produce short films that are really engaging and entertaining. It’s an important experience for our young filmmakers, they see their work on the big screen with immersive sound for the first time, they hear their peers around them laughing, whooping, reacting, and they know that it was something that came out of their imagination that evoked a reaction. It’s an inspiring event. My thanks to our generous donor for funding the competition.”
