It was great to meet so many families and welcome them into our School for the 7+ Open Day event and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for us.

It wasn’t just the sun that was shining; we are particularly proud of our Year 6 pupils who acted as Prep ‘tour guides’ showing prospective pupils and their parents around our facilities; they received rave reviews from our guests - five stars!

After hearing about our School and Admissions process from our Principal in the Main Hall visitors wandered past the ‘Late Summer Art Exhibition’ in the Arts Centre, through the Underpass to take a look around the Sports Centre which was buzzing with noise from the swimming pool which was being used for Saturday morning lessons.

As they entered the Prep Garden, visitors were drawn to the Seahorse Studios where Ms Garson was leading pupils in an African drums session. It was so good that Mr Curran, and not a few parents, couldn’t resist joining in!

Our new Food Tech kitchen has just been finished so Ms Scaffardi and handful of pupils were keen to ‘rise’ to the challenge, ‘proofing’ they’re ‘star bakers’ having fun making pizzas.

Our younger visitors didn’t want to leave the Science Lab where they had lots of fun with the experiments Mr Richter had set up and everyone loved testing their brains with the maths quizzes Ms Szumlas had put on in the Assembly Rooms. Elsewhere visitors heard pupils trying out their Mandarin and Spanish, demonstrating their IT skills and talking through history projects.

“It was so wonderful to have people back in person this year,” said Ms Rutterford, the Principal. “People know us as an academically selective co-educational school with incredible results, but its when they come here they get a full feel for the supportive, nurturing learning environment that we have created, the breadth of our curriculum and variety of extra curricular activities we offer. We like them to walk through the Underpass between the Prep and the Upper School, to physically experience the learning journey that their child could go on from joining us at 7 until they finish A levels at 18 years old. I’m so proud of all of our pupils who did so well today!”

It seems our young visitors were impressed. Whilst their parents were speaking to our Admissions team, the answer given most often to our quick ‘exit poll question: which part of the school did you like best today’ was ‘Everything!’
