Our Year 6 Swim Squad did us proud in the first ever virtual swimming gala against Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH) recently.

All 15 of our Prep Squad were able to take part in all the events and there were 42 Pbs (Personal Best times) between them!

The races were each 25m and the event was run like a normal Time Trial,  with the results recorded on a google sheet, so that both schools could see everyone’s times, and then the top 8 swimmers from each school in each event were given points (16,15,14 …1). Each school also had 3 relay teams competing in both the Medley and Freestyle relays and these counted double (ie 12,11,10 …..2).

After early success in the backstroke, Latymer widened its lead in the breaststroke where 8 swimmers improved their times by over 3 secs. LEH had the better of Latymer in fly but the Prep Squad were impressive in freestyle with some excellent swims -  particular mention for Alice M who became the first of the current Squad under 16 secs.

The relays finished all square which meant the final score was 326/302 to Latymer, an excellent result! Many thanks to the team at Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH) for this fantastic and hugely successful event and here's the quad raising three cheers for LEH (click here to watch the video)
